Block Kids Competition


Come join us for a fun and exciting competition! Block Kids is a free event for children in 1st through 6th grade


This event introduces children to careers in the construction industry and encourages them to use their imagination to create a structure with a specific set of material. It also allows children to explore how and why a structure is built.

Check in begins at 10:00 a.m. and

the contest will start promptly at 10:30 a.m.


Participants must be checked in by 10:20 a.m. and latecomers may forfeit their spot.


How the Competition Works


Each participant will be given 100 interlocking blocks and their choice of three of four other building materials (foil, poster board, rock, or string). Each child may build a project of their choice, provided that it is in some way relates to the construction industry. Construction equipment is acceptable.


The projects will be judged by local construction industry professionals and the grand prize winner’s entry will be entered in the regional competition, with a chance at competing on a national level.


Each child who participates in the contest will receive a goody bag.
